Most of the movements we make by walking, strolling, driving or riding in our daily activities show that we go through ways; that is, paths or roads. Even the thick forest with its density have paths created in them by either man or animal. A path isn’t just created for fun, but it satisfies the purpose of leading somewhere. A way or path is a linkage from one place to another. This also means that a way can be a road network into many other ways. Now, a way is not limited to the common roads that we see with our eyes; a way can also be a system of doing things. That is, a learnt knowledge before something is achieved. For example, you may not become a Surgeon, Teacher or Banker if you do not learn formal education. Formal education being said here is a way and a means to get some career achieved in life; hence formal education being a way doesnn’t just leads to only one career path, but many. This analogy is also synonymous with the Christian life. The day we accept the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we have chosen a path to tread in. And the path to walk in Jesus leads to God. Now, God is one but it is good that we have the knowledge of God enough to know that God is many things. For example, God being perfect is glorious, merciful, powerful, alive, wise, righteous, etc.
Jesus Christ being the Son of God is the Way to everything in God. Jesus said in John 14:6 (NKJV) that, ‘‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’’ The goodness with God is impossible to reach without coming through the Way, that is, Jesus. It is the Way that leads to the truth, and the truth leads to life in God. People can’t believe in God if the way to God is not revealed to them, and if the way to God is not revealed to people, how can they reach and know the truth? And if people do not know the truth, how can eternal life be accessed by them? Just as it was said in Romans 10:14 (NKJV) that, ‘‘and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?’’
The word of God is being received by faith so that we can be led to God, and let us remember that without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Faith takes us into the Way of truth, and we are able to receive everything that pertains to life and godliness. Now, the Lord Jesus is a gate, that is, an entrance; therefore, it will be wise to know and note that the devil is a gate as well, which leads into sin and death, and because of this, we that are already in the way of the Lord should take heed, lest we slip back into devil’s path. The way, truth and life being the person of the Son of God is a blessing to mankind to bring many men out of the ignorance of darkness to know the true personality of God. It is in the way of Jesus, which Jesus teaches, that the person of God is revealed and when the person of God is revealed to us, the blessings and glory of God is known by us.
